Mosaik's Latest Network QoE platform is the Next Generation of Customer Experience Management

Mosaik
MEMPHIS, TENN. – Mosaik announced the launch of its next-generation Network Quality of Experience (QoE) platform that leverages lightweight applications to transform devices, like smartphones and tablets, into sophisticated network probes that deliver actionable KPIs, better target network improvements, and improve customer retention.
This next-generation Network QoE platform was developed based on years of experience gained through private mobile network operator (MNO) deployments and from Sensorly’s crowdsourced coverage mapping technologies, acquired by Mosaik in early 2016. The Network QoE platform can now store, sanitize, and aggregate orders of magnitude more data in less time with cost-effective scaling to support data from millions of user equipment (UE) sources.
Content, mobile hardware and software providers, and social media networks are collecting vast amounts of information about wireless customer behavior. MNOs and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) can now access similar information while improving retention and network performance with deeper intelligence about customer and network experiences. Additionally, when combined with analytics from core and radio networks, capital and operating expenses may be more targeted and ultimately reduced.
Deployed via a lightweight software development kit (SDK), the Network QoE platform integrates into existing applications or through a white label version of the Sensorly app, turning off-the-shelf consumer devices into a fast and flexible analytical resource.
“Gaining broad insights into network performance has traditionally been available through costly and time-intensive methods such as drive testing,” said Chip Strange, vice president of strategy and business development at Mosaik. “Our Network QoE platform is simple to set up and delivers an abundance of rich, actionable data. Plus, the SDK is optimized to limit battery life and data consumption, which are important to our clients and consumers alike.”

The new SDKs, built from the ground-up to support the newest features of Android Oreo and iOS 11, sports many key optimizations:

  • Using background location provided by other applications, more data can be collected while minimizing impact on the UE battery.
  • The SDK’s overall system and storage load has been dramatically reduced and improved compression techniques minimize use of the data network.
  • The collection of new low-level radio data, such as band and frequency, provides value to radio access network (RAN) and network teams.

In addition to the above optimizations, the speed test functionality was re-worked to more closely simulate real-world user experience. A global content delivery network (CDN) now provides operators and enterprises with robust and consistent insights into where customers are experiencing degraded performance – no matter where they are or whose network they’re utilizing.
Full HTTPS support further simplifies integration into existing applications following industry best practices. Test scenarios can be configured to simulate common customer tasks from downloading a large song to uploading a small image.
Whether looking at a country-wide macro view or drilling down to the street level, Mosaik’s industry-leading database of wireless coverage combined with insights derived from ground-truth measurements through its next-gen Network QoE, provides a truly unique combination of network intelligence.
To learn more about next-gen Network QoE, visit Mosaik at Mobile World Congress Americas in San Francisco from September 12-14, 2017. The team will be available in meeting room #N.1564MR, and have copies of its award-winning wireless landscape poster offering in-depth views into United States tower assets, as well as global LTE coverage.
Attendees can also stop by the Rural Wireless Association (RWA) Lounge to grab a copy of the wireless landscape poster at the show or download a digital version at https://www.mosaik.com/2017-wireless-landscape/.
